Paravant's Clio integration connects your Paravant trademarks to the matching Clio Manage matters. Once a trademark is linked:
- its USPTO deadlines appear in Clio as tasks and on a shared Clio calendar,
- the matter's primary client is synced into Paravant,
- the emails and SMS that Paravant sends to clients are logged on the Clio matter.
Your team keeps using Clio for case management, billing and collaboration. Paravant calculates and tracks the USPTO deadlines and sends client notifications.
This is a direct connection between Paravant and Clio and does not require Zapier.
How the Paravant–Clio integration works
Connect Clio and link matters
Connect your Clio account and link each Paravant trademark to its Clio matter. Any firm member can create and manage links. The firm owner's Clio connection powers the task, calendar and message logging, so other team members don't have to manage the connection.
USPTO deadlines become Clio tasks
When you link a trademark to a Clio matter, Paravant creates a Clio task for each upcoming deadline. Each task is assigned to the matter's responsible attorney, even if that person doesn't have a Paravant account.
Each task includes:
- the deadline type and due date,
- the trademark details,
- a link back to the record in Paravant.
When a deadline date changes in Paravant, the Clio task updates. When the deadline is completed or no longer needed, the task is marked complete. Your team works the deadline in Clio, and Paravant keeps the date accurate.
Your trademark docket on a shared Clio calendar
Paravant creates a dedicated Paravant calendar in Clio that you can share with anyone who needs it. The firm owner chooses whether it shows deadlines for linked matters only or the firm's whole Paravant docket.
Each deadline appears as a calendar event with the trademark details and a link to Paravant, so your team can plan around trademark deadlines alongside the rest of the firm's Clio calendar.
Client contact details stay current
Linking a Clio matter brings its primary client into Paravant. The client's name, email and phone number sync from Clio and attach to the linked trademarks, so Paravant's client notifications go to current contact details.
You control the sync:
- preview changes before they apply,
- pause syncing when needed,
- when a likely match exists, choose whether to reuse an existing Paravant client or create a new one.
Fields managed by Clio are marked in Paravant, so your team knows where to make updates.
Client messages are logged on the Clio matter
Emails and SMS messages that Paravant sends to clients are logged in the Communications section of each linked Clio matter. Sent, failed and cancelled messages are all included, so the full communication history stays with the matter.
Less double entry
Once matters are linked, deadline changes, completions and client contact details stay aligned without re-entry. Connection or delivery problems are surfaced so you can fix them. The integration is built to avoid duplicate tasks or calendar events when several people connect or an account is reconnected.

Does Paravant integrate with Clio?
Yes. The direct Clio Manage integration is coming in late 2026. It links trademarks to Clio matters and syncs deadlines, calendar events, client details and client message logs.
Do I need Zapier to connect Paravant and Clio?
No. The integration connects Paravant and Clio directly. Paravant also has a Zapier integration for other apps; see Zapier integration.
Does Clio track USPTO trademark deadlines on its own?
Clio Manage is practice management software. Paravant calculates USPTO trademark deadlines from your USPTO correspondence email(s) and sends them to Clio as tasks and calendar events.
Do responsible attorneys need a Paravant account?
No. Tasks are assigned to the Clio matter's responsible attorney even if that person doesn't have a Paravant account.
Which way does data sync?
Deadlines, the calendar and message logs flow from Paravant to Clio. Primary client contact details flow from Clio to Paravant. See the table above.
